Our Mission Statement

- To provide a home where the highest standard of Christian Science nursing care is available, in accordance with Art VIII Section 31 of The Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy.
Expanding to Seven Patient Rooms: The Meadows Project
Our mission is to be able to provide a haven for those who need Christian Science nursing care and who come to the Lime Tree House for healing and spiritual refreshment. Therefore in response to a growing need for more Guest/Nursing rooms we have worked with an Architect to find the right way of providing these, that maintains the special atmosphere of ‘home’ that is Lime Tree house, and yet does not require any period of closure to complete the building work. We believe the drawings shown below will achieve this. They form part of the Planning Application, which is being completed for imminent submission to the planning department of Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council. These drawing were on display at our Annual Meeting.
We have called this expansion ‘The Meadows Project’ after a legacy given for this purpose, which will part fund Phase 1 of the project. This Phase will add two of the three additional Guest/Nursing rooms and additional facilities needed by the increase in capacity. Phase 2 will follow when sufficient funds have been raided for it. With the completion of this Project, the land area at 264 Washway is insufficient for further development. If you would like to make donations to help this project, downloadable forms are on the Contact Us page.
Historical note: Lime Tree House was purchased in 2001 and was largest property our funds would cover that had provision for the four nursing rooms our research of the Christian Science nursing needs in the area led us to conclude were needed. Lime Tree House opened in September 2003 after further substantial funds were raised to convert the property into a Christian Science Nursing House.
First Annual Meeting: held on 10th May 2008
We were delighted to see so many people at this meeting, and those there were able to see displays that included the “Meadows Development” plans, the Lime Tree House PowerPoint Presentation, and the history and development of Lime Tree House.
We are very grateful to the members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Altrincham for letting us use their church for this meeting.
We intend to hold our next Annual Meeting on a similar date in May 2009.
